		<description>Good call, Bryan. That's one of the things I'd change about the conversation I talked about with that workmate. I'd ask questions rather than give advice. He didn't want it anyway, he just wanted to spread his anger around to create a groundswell against the boss.

When you start thinking about self-definition, it changes your approach to situations like this.

		<description>What about the guy who tells you to go jump in the lake/water? These days I'm finding that the quicker someone asks for advice, the more likely they are to reject the it. In contrast, it seems that people who have some investment in discovering the way forward are most likely to attempt a first momentum step on that path.</description>
