You Need to Fail in order to Succeed

Michael Jordan once said:

“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”

If you feel like you’re failing at something important in this season of your life, I just have two things to tell you:

  1. You deserve credit for getting in there and “giving it a go”! You could have retired to the sidelines or abandoned ship, but you haven’t. Be proud of that.
  2. If you know what you’re trying to achieve, and you’re clear on why and how, it’s largely a matter of time until the ball goes through that hoop and the game is won. Repetition, learning, persistence and just plain showing-up: these are the main ingredients of success.

Love the article and the quotes from Michael Jordan. That’s exactly the way I try to think whenever I hit a hard wall. Nice job :)
