Words, words, words

Ah, Shakespeare (in Hamlet) summed up my own love of books with those 3 words in the title above … er, that word in the title … er, that word repeated twice after it was written the first time … [sigh] …

Let’s start again. I love books. My good mate, Troy at Orbit Now has challenged me to answer the following questions about books, so here we go:

  1. How many books do you own? 800 … ish.
  2. What was the last book you read? The Last Explorer: Hubert Wilkins, Australia’s Unknown Hero
  3. What was the last book you purchased? Star Wars: Betrayal (why are you laughing?)
  4. What five books are most meaningful to you? The Bible, The Fifth Discipline, The Five Love Languages (sounds like a soppy love story, it isn’t, it’s more like Relationships 101), The Way of the Wild Heart, and The Hiding Place (one of those books that will always - in every printing - have a dorky cover, but the dorkkiness hides a gripping and moving true WW2 story).
  5. What is your most obscure favorite book? Liege Killer (it’s 1980s sci-fi but I read it for the 4th time recetnly and it still works. The main thing I like about it is that it was innovative and original).

I now tag the following people to answer the same questions, if they’d like:

  1. Young entrepreneur Mat Newton
  2. Joe @ Fathered Five
  3. Bill @ Make It a Double
  4. Kerry @ Aspiring Author
  5. Songwriter Warren @ Waking Up

Thanks for the tag Pete, I’ll do it now

I’ve read The Hiding Place a couple of times since the ’80’s. Great book! Thanks for sharing.
