The OPENING DOORS program has served Job Network agencies since 2005, consistently delivering the following outcomes:
- uncovering jobseeker’s barriers-to-employment so that the agency may refer them to appropriate support services,
- significantly more cooperative and motivated clients,
- empowering the jobseeker to overcome their own barriers to employment and gain it themselves in the weeks following the program
OPENING DOORS avoids a ‘one-size-fits-all approach’ to coaching jobseekers toward a more satisfying lifestyle. Our program involves a blend of group coaching, classroom learning, personal fitness and movement, and 1-to-1 life coaching.
It was developed by Andrew Schneider (from Go For Your Life Victoria) and Pete Aldin (developer/faciltator of Succeeding @ Work which won the Adult Community Education 2009 Victorian Award for “Outstanding Pre-accredited program design and delivery”)
Our past clients have included:
- parents returning to work
- mature-age workers
- migrants
- youth
Many of these people are now back into permanent work, further education and even the NEIS program, as they get closer to their dream of a satisfying vocation.
